Introduction to Archery for Women

The Department of Natural Resources offers ladies plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors through its Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program. The workshops are hands-on and designed for women 18 and up, with the goal being to teach women skills needed to partake in outdoor recreation.

One upcoming workshop is the Beyond BOW Introduction to Archery, be be held July 12, from 6-9 p.m. at Detroit Archers, at 5795 Drake Road, West Bloomfield.

The course covers safety, dominant eye, proper shooting form/technique, various archery equipment, maintenance and selection. Plus ladies will enjoy hands-on practice in the indoor range with assistance provided by instructors.

Girls 10 and up are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult at all time. Cost is $10 per person and class is limited to the first 30 who sign up.

Registration deadline is July 7.
