Kensington Metropark has cancelled its Winter Bliss Festival, set to happen Jan. 29, due to lack of ice and snow.
The event would have offered a wide variety of winter sports and activities to try, including curling, speedskating, ice hockey and ice fishing on Kent Lake, along with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and other activities in the park
“Although our skating rink has not opened yet this winter, our nature center, farm center and disc golf course have been very busy during these stretches of mild weather,” said Kimberly Jarvis, western park district manager. “We regret that we had to cancel this event, but we will plan another Winter Bliss Festival for next winter.”
