Novi FIRST Robotics will be holding an informational meeting on July
18 from 7pm to 9pm in the East Meeting room at the Novi Public
Library, 45255 West Ten Mile Road. All Novi students entering grades
K-12 this fall interested in joining a robotics team for the 2012
season and their parents are encouraged to attend.
FIRST is a worldwide program dedicated to inspiring young people to be
science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting
mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology
skills. FIRST teams for the 2012 season are forming now for all Novi
Community Schools students entering grades K-12.
FIRST programs are Jr. FIRST LEGO® League (grades K-3), FIRST LEGO
League (grades 4-8), FIRST Tech Challenge (grades 7-8), and FIRST
Robotics Competition (grades 9-12). Past Novi FIRST teams have
competed for Michigan and World Championships at all levels.
Graduating seniors have been eligible for college scholarships offered
through the $15,000,000 FIRST Scholarship Program.
