Fox Run Residents "Stay Active" on National Fitness Day

Tai Chi, Yoga, Water Aerobics and Jazzercise Among Day-Long Activities

NOVI, MI (June 8, 2015) – Nearly 200 Fox Run retirement community residents participated May 27 in the annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day, the theme of which was “Stay Active.”

During the day-long event all residents were encouraged to tryout 11 different class offerings including Tai Chi, yoga, meditation, water aerobics and water volleyball, Jazzercise, Exercise 4 Movement, Wii Bowling, Mind and Muscle and Arthritis Foundation Exercise classes.

Residents attended a Health Fair with information from local agencies (Novi Public Library and Parks and Recreation), national agencies (AARP, AMAC and National Council on Health & Aging), area hospitals, and area places of worship.

Specialty medical services (dentist, audiologist, Arbor Lane Pharmacy, Metro Medical), healing touch, massage (seen in photo), TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), and Jazzercise were offered. Free exercise DVD’s from Go-4-Life were provided to all who attended.

“It was a successful event with many new residents getting the opportunity to see what services are available in their new homes and throughout the neighboring community,” said Wellness Coordinator Alice Hixson
