Gov. Rick Snyder Admitted to Ann Arbor Hospital

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has been hospitalized after he noticed pain and swelling in his right leg and decided he needed to be examined, The Detroit News reports.

The governor was admitted to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was attending events. Spokeswoman Sara Wurfel said Snyder was admitted as a precaution.

The clot is in the same leg where Snyder ruptured an Achilles tendon while jogging during the holidays in Florida.

“He’s in good spirits and good hands,” Wurfel said. “His mobility may be limited right now but he’s still hard at work.”
