New Plus-Size Fashion Hits Twelve Oaks Mall

NOVI, MI — A new clothing store in Twelve Oaks Mall is offering the latest trends for plus-size women. Eloquii, (pronounced El- ō-kwee), opened Wednesday on the lower level near Nordstrom, offering sizes 14-28. The New York and Columbus, Ohio retailer currently has three brick and mortar locations as well as an e-commerce site. The store features clothing, swimwear, wide-width footwear and accessories.

“There are a few places to buy clothing, but not fashion within the plus size market,” said Eloquii CEO Mariah Chase. “Our stores will have stylists who can advise shoppers on trends and iPads where customers can browse or shop a wider range of items online.” The store spans 1,775-square feet and aims to offer an “emotional” experience for customers who feel that “brands don’t often understand them.”

According to NPD Group, plus size U.S. sales are growing twice as fast as the overall apparel industry; the average woman in the U.S. is a size 14.
