Novi Residents Among the First to Get AT&T Fiber
Four communities in Southeast Michigan among those getting access to the high-speed internet.

Novi residents and those in four other Southeast Michigan communities are getting ultra-fast internet service. That means eligible homes, apartments and small business locations in the area will get 1 gigabit internet connection on the company's 100% fiber network under the AT&T FiberSM umbrella brand.
Canton, South Lyon and Clinton Township are among the other communities to have access to the fast internet. The plan is to expand in parts of Detroit, Ann Arbor, Roseville and Ferndale in mid-2017.
The Southeast Michigan area is one of 67 metros where we’re making our fastest internet service available. We now market our ultra-fast service to over 3 million locations, of which over 500,000 include apartments and condo units.

“AT&T is committed to extending access to ultra-fast internet because our customers are increasingly interacting with their world in more data-intensive ways,” said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan. “A growing number of people are streaming content directly from their devices, and interacting with family and friends through live videos. For these reasons, we are proud to now offer our fastest internet speeds in several communities throughout southeast Michigan.”
“We fully support AT&T’s investment in ultra-fast internet in the region. We look forward to working with them to expand in the city of Detroit and other communities,” said Sally Talberg, chairwoman of the Michigan Public Service Commission. “High-speed internet is a service residents and businesses have come to expect and access to it will enhance opportunities to grow our local economy.”
