Novi Works to Ensure Drinking Water Meets State Standards
An updated ordinance would upgrade the city's water and plumbing systems to stay in line with Michigan's Safe Drinking Water Act.
Novi might need to update its water and plumbing systems in order to meet Michigan regulations.
The City Council introduced changes to an ordinance that would make it compliant with the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act, according to a HometownLife report.
Some council members were concerned that the measure, if passed, could pass along an unfair financial burden to the city for upgrades, the report stated. So far, however, it doesn’t appear that Novi will need to be correcting anything within the systems immediately, the report added.

The council will vote on the ordinance at its next meeting March 9.
