Novi's Lakeshore Park Closed

NOVI, MI — Lakeshore Beach in Novi will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, according to city officials. Walled Lake is being treated for aquatic weeds and algae with aquatic herbicides The treatment is needed to keep the non-native and exotic plant communities in check throughout the entire lake and treat nuisance natives in and around docks and swim areas.

Novi’s portion of the lake sits in the city’s northwest corner. The park opens at 8 a.m and closes at dusk with beach hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beach hours will expand when schools close for the summer, to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Besides swimming, Lakeshore Park offers mountain biking, walking trails and two play structures. The park is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Three picnic shelters are available for community use at the park.
