Octoberfest at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church

Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church (41415 W. Nine Mile Road, Novi) is hosting its annual Octoberfest celebration on Sunday, October 5. The schedule is as follows:

5:00 PM – Vespers

5:30 PM – Bratwurst dinner

6:30 PM – Luther Lecture: The Reformation Produces Fruits … and Nuts. (1522-1524)

Octoberfest is an opportunity to learn a little bit about Martin Luther and the contributions he made to the Holy Christian Church. Even if you are not Lutheran, it pays to learn why his name is regarded so highly among a notable segment of Christendom. This year’s Luther Lecture details some of the practical issues the church faced in determining what the evangelical church should look at act like, as well as addressing and refuting people who sought to turn the Reformation into a revolution.
