Providence-Providence Park Hospital Novi Achieves Level 2 Trauma

Ascension's Providence-Providence Park Hospital in Novi verified as an Adult Level Two Trauma Center by ACS

Ascension’s Providence-Providence Park Hospital in Novi has been verified as an Adult Level Two Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, the national organization responsible for evaluating and verifying hospitals as designated Trauma Centers.

“This verification means patients of the greater Novi area and the surrounding communities can rest assured knowing that their local hospital offers the highest level of care and service right here at home,” says Joseph Hurshe, president of Providence-Providence Park Hospital. “Providence Park Hospital has grown with the community over the years and continues to invest resources into the community by developing new health programs and services which further demonstrate our commitment to serving the community.”

This achievement recognizes the trauma center's dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients. Established by the American College of Surgeons in 1987, the Committee on Trauma Consultation/Verification Program for Hospitals promotes the development of trauma centers in which participants provide not only the hospital resources necessary for trauma care, but also the entire spectrum of care to address the needs of all injured patients. This spectrum encompasses the prehospital phase through the rehabilitation process.
