Trump's Demeaning of Women Means No Support for Republicans

I remember a time when the Republican Party represented the most fundamental ideals of America, including service, fiscal responsibility, and a robust moral compass. However, that has changed in recent years and the result is that more and more women are growing uncomfortable with the direction the Republican Party is going.

I’ve supported politicians on both sides of the aisle, though for the last 10 years, a good chunk of my support has gone towards the GOP. But since President Trump has taken office and has made numerous comments meant to demean women I cannot support a party whose representatives don’t stand up to him.

I want the GOP to return to its roots, but if that is to happen then individuals like myself who have admired and backed many Republican candidates now must stand firm and say – no more. I am supporting Democrat Haley Stevens in the 11thCongressional District because I believe in her values and ideals. She will stand up to Trump, who not only demeans women but divides the nation along gender, racial, and economic lines while Republican members of Congress cower in their silence. It is time for new, inspired leadership.
