Watch for Six DIA Artworks Placed Around Novi

The reproductions will be on display through June, and special events are planned during the exhibition.

Novi residents should keep an eye out for six Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) reproductions, placed throughout the community as part of the Inside/Out program.

This is second time Novi has been selected as a host for the 4-year-old DIA program, which brings high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA’s collection to the streets and parks of metro Detroit.

Here's a list of art works and where they will be on display through June:

  • The Lily Pond by Harry Charles Eaton at Michigan State University Tollgate Education Center
  • Study for Birds by Albert Moore at the Novi Public Library
  • Hard Ball III by Robert Moskowitz, at Ella Mae Power Park
  • The Countess de Brac as Aurora by Jean Marc Nattier at the Novi Civic Center
  • Talking Oak by William Maw Egley is at Fuerst Park
  • In The Garden by Mary Cassatt at the Meadowbrook Activity Center

In addition, classes to create you own artwork will be held on Tuesdays, May 14-June 18, at a cost of $75 for residents. Register on the city's website.

Adults ages 55 and older are invited to visit the DIA via a motorcoach trip on May 18. Register on the city's website.

Residents of Novi may visit the DIA free of charge during the designated “Community Weekend”, May 18 and 19. Visitors will receive a 10 percent discount at Café DIA and the museum shop, $1 off Detroit Film Theatre (DFT) tickets and free admission to showings of the DFT 101 film series.
