Weather Delays Construction Project in Novi

The Road Commission for Oakland County maintenance project on the bridge over the CSX railroad tracks on Grand River just west of Novi Road in the City of Novi has been delayed until approximately June 22 due to weather. It was originally scheduled to begin on June 19.

The bridge will remain open to traffic during the project. However, it will be reduced to one lane on each direction.

The outer lanes on the bridge will close first. Once work is completed on the outer lanes, traffic will be shifted, and work will start on the inner lanes. Motorists can expect delays.

The $450,000 project is funded by the RCOC. The project includes replacing the bridge expansion joints.

The work will be done by Z-Contractors based out of Shelby Township. The project is expected to conclude in late August.
