Art & Flower Fair flourishes this weekend in downtown Lake Orion (lakeorionreview.com) — Downtown Lake Orion will be filled with art, flowers, and live music this weekend as the Orion Art Center’s Art & Flower Fair takes over Broadway and Flint streets. More than 100 vendors, a Kids Zone, and a community art project will anchor the festival. Expect street closures, specific municipal parking options, and a lively atmosphere benefiting local arts programs.
2. Service restored to Oakland communities hit by water main break; boil order still in effect (detroitnews.com) — Water service is back on in Lake Orion and Orion Township after Sunday’s major water main break, but residents must still boil water until testing confirms it’s safe. Local officials say system flushing and testing will continue for several days, and Lake Orion Community Schools remain closed through Thursday while GLWA offers free water at distribution sites.
3. Water service restored to five Oakland County communities (mlive.com) — Lake Orion residents still face a boil-water advisory through the weekend, even though water pressure has been restored after Sunday’s major main break. Local officials say tap water is fine for laundry and dishwashers but must not be used for drinking or cooking until tests confirm it’s safe, and free bottled water stations will stay open daily.
4. Community invited to contribute to time capsule project in Oakland Township (candgnews.com) — Lake Orion community members are invited to help fill a new time capsule in nearby Oakland Township that will be opened in 2051. Residents can submit letters, photos, stories, artwork, and small artifacts by June 1, highlighting today’s life in Lake Orion and surrounding areas for future generations.
