OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI — A man was killed and two women were injured in a head-on crash Friday morning in Oakland County, according to sheriff's officials.
The crash happened at 5:48 a.m. Friday on Rochester Road near Buell Road in Oakland Township, according to sheriff's officials.
The 65-year-old Rochester Hills man was driving a 2022 Ford Escape north on Rochester Road when he crossed the centerline and slammed head-on with a 2025 Subaru Outback, according to sheriff's officials.
The man, who was wearing a seatbelt, was killed in the crash, according to sheriff's officials.
The Subaru driver, a 49-year-old Imlay City woman, and her passenger, a 56-year-old Almont woman, were injured in the crash, according to sheriff's officials.
Both women were taken to Henry Ford Rochester Hospital, where they remain in critical condition, according to sheriff's officials.
Officials do not know why the Escape crossed the centerline. They do not believe the crash was the result of a medical emergency.
It's unclear if the women in the Subaru were wearing seatbelts, according to sheriff's officials.
Officials did not release any other details as they are still investigating the crash.
