County election officials will decide this week if the question appears on the November ballot, with local leaders warning that losing the village could also mean losing its police, snowplow services, and village staff positions.

Lake Orion Schools hires 4 teachers (lakeorionreview.com) โ Lake Orion Community Schools has hired four new teachers, including two for Lake Orion High School and two for local elementary schools, to support students this fall. The hires bring added experience in auto-tech, math, and upper elementary grades, with each educator holding education degrees from Michigan universities and being formally welcomed by the school board president.

Lake Orion girls swim and dive team starts the season 2-1 (lakeorionreview.com) โ Lake Orion High School's girls swim and dive team has opened the season 2-1, highlighted by a dominant win over Oxford and strong performances in their home tri-meet. Several Dragons swimmers have already qualified for county and state meets, and the team hosts Royal Oak at Lake Orion High School tomorrow at 6 p.m. for their next competition.

From seniors decorating cars to little ones walking in with parents, families across Lake Orion marked the Sept. 1 return with reunions, photos, and a fresh start to the school year.
