• Witches Night Out (thecitizenonline.com) — Downtown Ortonville will transform for the ninth annual Witches Night Out on Oct. 10, with streets closing at noon for this adults-only celebration. From vendors and food trucks to a hearse parade, contests, tarot readings, and live entertainment, residents can shop, play games, and support local groups, with details and volunteer sign-ups available via the Ortonville DDA and event Facebook pages.
   

• Ortonville candy collection returns (thecitizenonline.com) — The Village of Ortonville is again collecting Halloween candy to help residents handle the roughly 1,000 trick-or-treaters who visit local streets each year. You can donate sealed bags at village offices on Mill Street during business hours through Oct. 26, or sign up as a resident to receive candy support by phone or email.
   

• Ortonville DDA awarded $2,500 grant from MSUFCU (thecitizenonline.com) — Downtown Ortonville’s plan for public Wi‑Fi is now fully funded, thanks to a new $2,500 Main Street Connected Grant from MSUFCU’s Pillur program. Combined with matching funds and an AARP grant, the Ortonville DDA’s Connected Corridor project will support local businesses and visitors with better digital access in the village core.
