• Bay County fall sports roundup: Semifinal run is a homecourt tourney treat (mlive.com) — Pinconning athletes had a strong week, with the Spartans volleyball team reaching the semifinals of their own Spartan Invitational and the golf squad posting its best round of the season. Local standouts like Adrienne Rau and Elley Shoultes led the way, while neighboring Bay County schools also turned in notable performances in volleyball, swimming, cross country, and soccer.
• Michigan CRA Revokes 20 Marijuana Grow Licenses, Issues Record-Tying $2 Million Fine (mitechnews.com) — Michigan cannabis regulators recently issued two record-tying $2 million fines, including one just days ago against Michigan Investment 10, which operated a marijuana processing facility in Pinconning. The case involved serious surveillance and compliance failures, and, combined with another large fine in Clare, is raising questions about whether the state is stepping up enforcement across the cannabis industry.
