1 Dead, 3 Hurt In I-94 Crash In Detroit Area: Police
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled over on eastbound Interstate 94 near the Van Buren rest stop area at 7:20 p.m.

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, MI — One person was killed and three others were injured in a Sunday night crash on Interstate 94 in Van Buren Township, according to Michigan State Police.
Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled over on eastbound Interstate 94 near the Van Buren rest stop area at 7:20 p.m.
A 23-year-old man from Ypsilanti was killed in the crash, while a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were taken to a near hospital where they were listed in critical condition, according to Michigan State Police.

A 20-year-old woman was also taken to a nearby hospital where she was listed in stable condition, according to Michigan State Police.
Witnesses told troopers they saw someone standing up through the vehicle's sunroof before the crash, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers determined no one inside the vehicle was wearing their seatbelt, according to Michigan State Police.
"We had several preventable crashes this weekend where someone lost their lives due to the drivers risky driving behavior," Michigan State Police First Lieutenant Mike Shaw said. "Make sure you drive the speed limit, wear your seatbelt and pay attention to what is going on around you."
Police did not release the names of the victims in the crash. Police did not say what kind of vehicle it was or who was driving the vehicle.
Officials did notify family.
