Westland Woman Dies In Single Car Crash On I-96 Service Drive

Police believe the woman hit fencing and a pole in the construction zone just after 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

LIVONIA, MI — A 25-year-old Westland woman died Wednesday morning after crashing her car in a construction zone on the westbound I-96 service drive at Middlebelt Road, Livonia Police said.

Livonia and Michigan State Police are investigating the crash, which appeared to show the woman hit fencing and a pole in the construction zone just after 1:11 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The westbound I-96 exit ramp at Middlebelt Road remained closed Wednesday morning.
