113-Year-Old Wayne County Bakery Planning To Close Down For Good

Awrey's Bakery will close unless a new owner buys it.

LIVONIA, MI — A 113-year-old Wayne County bakery is planning to shut its doors for good soon.

The owners of Awrey's Bakery, located at 12301 Farmington Road in Livonia, said they plan to close down for good in September, unless another buyer purchases the bakery.

Minnie Marie Bakers, who purchased Awrey's in 2013, said the bakery is struggling to keep up with growing production costs, as there's a declining interest in sweets.
