The Plymouth Whalers open the home half of their 25th season in the Ontario Hockey League on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 7:05 pm at Compuware Arena against the Erie Otters.

The Ontario Hockey League will release its entire 2014-15 schedule on Wednesday. The Whalers and the rest of the league will follow suit with their respective schedules.

Erie finished 52-14-2-0 last season, third in the OHL's Western Conference. After eliminating Saginaw and Sault Ste. Marie in the first two rounds of the 2014 OHL Playoffs, the Otters were eliminated in five games in the Western Conference Finals by the OHL Champion Guelph Storm.
The Otters feature star Connor McDavid, who comes into this season as the projected top pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Plymouth finished 28-33-0-7 last season, eighth in the Western Conference, while making the OHL Playoffs for the 23rd consecutive season. The Whalers were eliminated in the first round of the 2014 OHL Playoffs by the Guelph Storm.
The Whalers return an entire roster of players from last season, including six players eligible for this weekend's NHL Draft:
Alex Nedeljkovic – Goaltender – who is rated fourth overall among North American goaltenders.
Conner Chatham – Right Wing – rated 46th overall among North American prospects.
Alex Peters – Defense – rated 56th overall among North American prospects.
Matt Mistele – Left Wing – rated 88th overall among North American prospects.
Josh Wesley – Defense – rated 111th overall among North American prospects.
Yannick Rathgeb – Defense – rated 129th overall among North American prospects.
