2016 Michigan Election Results: Plymouth Local Races

Write-ins fail in last-ditch effort to keep their jobs.

(Posted Nov. 9, 2016) PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — Two Plymouth Township incumbents, ousted in the primaries in August, initiated write-in candidacies less than two weeks before Tuesday's election. Both were soundly defeated, according to unofficial Wayne County election results.

For treasurer, Mark Clinton, a Republican, handily defeated Democrat Mary Siefert, 9,676 to 6,228, with unspecified write-in candidates getting 116. Current five-term treasurer Ron Edwards, who lost by large margins in the primary, was a write-in.

In the clerk's race current one-term clerk Nancy Conzelman was a write-in candidate. Republican Jerry Vorva received 10,877 votes in the race; unspecified write-in candidates garnered a total of 362 votes.

For supervisor, Republican Kurt Heise defeated write-ins, 11,564 to 311.

For trustee, five candidates plus write-ins were in a race for four spots. Vote tallies for trustee are as follows:
