3 Hurt In Metro Detroit I-94 Crash Caused By Reckless Driver: Police
Police said a driver crashed into another car while crossing multiple lanes on the freeway.

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, MI — Three people, including two kids, were seriously injured in a Tuesday crash that was caused by a reckless driver on Interstate 94 in Van Buren Township, according to Michigan State Police.
Police said a driver crashed into another car in the westbound lanes on the freeway while crossing multiple lanes just before Belleville Road to try and make their exit at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The car that was hit rolled up the right embankment and back down onto the service drive, according to police.

An adult and two children, ages 8 and 9, inside the overturned car were seriously injured in the crash and were taken to a nearby hospital, according to police.
The driver who caused the crash was not hurt in the crash, according to police.

Investigators do not believe alcohol, drugs or medication were factors in the crash, according to police.
"We continue to see preventable crashes cause by risky driving behaviors," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "A family received serious injuries because a driver couldn’t just wait to the next exit. Be aware of your location and make smart decisions behind the wheel."
