3 Wayne County Communities To Get New Absentee Ballots After Printing Error

Voters across three Wayne County communities will be receiving new absentee ballots due to a printing error.

The error centered on an omission involving the Belleville Area District Library Board portion of the ballot. It affects ballots mailed to voters in Van Buren Township, Sumpter Township and Belleville.

The ballots containing the error were mailed out on Sept. 24.

Officials said the new ballots will be be mailed out as soon as they are printed. They added voters should watch for additional instructions included with your ballot.

Residents with any questions related to the error should reach out to their local clerk’s office.

Voters can request a ballot at Michigan.gov/vote. Election officials recommend requesting an absentee ballot at least two weeks before the election. They can be returned by mail or drop box without needing an excuse.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
