4-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Hotel Pool In Metro Detroit: Reports

LIVONIA, MI — A 4-year-old child drowned in a pool at a hotel in Wayne County on Wednesday, according to reports.

The incident happened at the Embassy Suites on Victor Parkway, in the area of Interstate 275 and Seven Mile Road in Livonia, reports said.

Investigators believe the boy was underwater for roughly 16 minutes before he was spotted by someone other than his family, WWJ News reported.

Officials performed life-saving measures on the boy, but he died at a nearby hospital, police said.

It was unclear who was supposed to be watching the boy when he drowned.

Police are still investigating the incident.

The incident comes after a 4-year-old girl drowned at a private athletic club in Oakland County earlier this month. Charges could be filed in that case.
