8 People Hurt In 4-Car Crash On Busy Ann Arbor Road: Police

Investigators believe speed played a role in the crash.

ANN ARBOR, MI — Eight people were injured in a four-car crash on a busy Ann Arbor road Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

Police said a 2003 Corvette was speeding north on State Street near Interstate 94 at 1:38 p.m. when it struck a 2023 Ford Maverick that was turning out of a private drive.

The impact of the crash forced the Corvette into the southbound lane, where it was hit by a 2020 Jeep Cherokee and a 2024 Ford Edge, according to police.

A 20-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Corvette was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in critical condition, according to police.

The 17-year-old driver of the Corvette was also taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

The driver of the Maverick, a 69-year-old man, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to police.

Four people, who were inside the Jeep, and one person who was inside the Edge were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries suffered in the crash, according to police.

Investigators believe speed played a role in the crash.

The roadway was shut down for several hours but has since reopened.

Police were still investigating the crash.
