LIVONIA, MI — A longtime Livonia burger joint is planning to close in the near future.
Daly Restaurant, located along Plymouth Road in Livonia, recently announced it plans to close this year after 67 years.
Restaurant officials did not share a closing date but said they plan to stay open through at least the summer.
"We hope that you will continue to support both Daly and its longtime staff," restaurant officials said. "We have been blessed to have such a dedicated, honest and hard-working crew. We hope that they can remain with us through these final months."
Daly Restaurant is best known for its simple burgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes and malts.
The Livonia restaurant opened in 1959, but there had been other Daly-branded spots throughout the metro Detroit area, including in Dearborn Heights, Warren and others.
The Livonia restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
