• Cop, woman charged after toddler brings loaded gun to Michigan day care (newstribune.com) — A toddler bringing a loaded handgun to a Sheldon Road day care has led to misdemeanor charges against two parents and a strict no-firearms order from Plymouth's 35th District Court. The judge denied a Detroit police officer's request to keep any of his nine guns, including his service weapon, while the case proceeds. No children were hurt, but prosecutors say the situation was dangerously close to tragedy.
