Ann Arbor Police Share Update On Pioneer HS Teen Who Was Found Dead

ANN ARBOR, MI — As officials continue investigating the death of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School student Adriana Davidson, police shared an update Tuesday hoping to clarify any misinformation.

"We know there are a lot of unanswered questions, as well as a lot of misinformation, about the death of Adriana Davidson being shared on social media," Ann Arbor Police said. "The family and the community deserve answers, and we will be transparent about what happened as our investigation unfolds."

Officials did not specifically detail what misinformation was being spread on social media surrounding the 15-year-old's death.

Police reviewed security video from the school and believe Davidson was alone when she died. Police also reiterated they don't believe there was any foul play.

"While Adriana’s death is tragic - right now, we are not currently searching for anyone else who may be involved in her death, and there is NO threat to the community," police said.

An autopsy was completed Tuesday by the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner’s Office. The results determining the cause and manner of Davidson’s death are still pending.

Police said Davidson was last seen and heard from Friday around 9 a.m. on her way to school. When she didn't return to her Scio Township home after school, her family reported her missing, police said.

Police said surveillance video from a school bus showed Davidson got to school Friday morning, but then left shortly after arriving. She then went back to school by bus around noon that day, but never went inside, police said.

That was the last time police said she was seen alive.

After a search over the weekend turned up nothing, a K-9 unit found Davidson’s body around 1 p.m. Monday near Pioneer High School’s athletic fields, police said.

"We know that in the absence of facts, myths can emerge, and with such a tragic situation, those myths can begin to cause considerable harm," the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office said. "Parents become fearful to send their students to school based on unverified rumors. Family members continue to be victimized from the constant barrage of inaccurate assumptions, and the integrity of an investigation can be threatened."

Police promised to share more updates on the case in the coming days and weeks.
