Van Buren Community Players are proud to present The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, a Jones Hope Wooten comedy in the Black Box Theater at Van Buren Community Center on Sept. 12, 13 &amp; 18-20, 2026.
Come meet five Southern women hilariously held together by their reunions at the “Sweet Delilah” in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Watch as they catch up, grow old, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. Five very different women, one very united club, sticking together through the highs and lows of life.
Director Thomas Mattison said, “I like shows that go deep into character development. This show takes place over 40 years! Each actor has done amazing work digging into their character’s backstory. Time flies when you’re having fun”.
The cast of this show includes the following talented local actors: Becky Dodd-Sherry of Monroe, Betty Berryman of Canton, Lisa Salisbury of Ypsilanti Twp., Natalie Lewand of Franklin and Rhonda Smith of Wayne.
Performances are Sept. 12 at 7:30 pm, Sept. 13 at 2:00 pm, Sept. 18 &amp; 19 at 7:30 pm and Sept. 20 at 2:00 pm at VBT Community Center, located at 46425 Tyler Road, Van Buren Twp., MI 48111.

The fall 2026 Plymouth Lecture Series is set to begin on Thursday, Sept. 17. We are welcoming new members for our series of five lectures on a wide range of topics including local history, art, music, gardening, health, travel and much more.
We meet at the Plymouth Community Arts Council at 774 Sheldon Rd. on Thursdays beginning Sept. 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The setting is informal, everyone is welcome. Since it is a collaborative effort, ideas for future speakers are encouraged.
New members can pay for the series at the first meeting. The cost is $30.00 for the five lectures. It is a great way to meet new people and expand your horizons. Hope to see you there!

Sept.17 The Plymouth Historical Museum presents “Early American Toys” which will 	provide us with insight into the lives and activities of colonial children.
Sept. 24 A clothing historian will discuss and bring samples of gowns worn during the 	Downton Abbey era.&nbsp; &nbsp;
Oct. 1. Presented by a DIA docent,&nbsp;the “Behind the Seen”&nbsp;talk focuses on various 	aspects of the DIA and its collection.
Oct. 8&nbsp;The&nbsp;Northville&nbsp;Historical Society presents a look at Mill Race Village, a living 	museum village of restored &amp; replica 19th-century buildings.
Oct. 15 Learn about Detroit's historic movie palaces, which represent the peak of 	1920s architectural grandeur and entertainment history.
