Canton To Host A Chili Cook-Off To Support Local Non-profit

All proceeds raised from the event will be used to support the Canton Cares Fund,​ which is a non-profit that supports the Canton community.

PLYMOUTH-CANTON, MI — The City of Canton will host a Chili Cook-Off fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Preservation Park.

All proceeds raised from the event will be used to support the Canton Cares Fund, which is a non-profit that supports the Canton community by providing financial assistance to disaster relief, therapeutic recreation, youth and senior programs, employee recognition and scholarships.

"The Canton Cares Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser was created to offer participants a fun and tasty way to support our community," Recreation Supervisor Laura Mortier said. "Our goal with this year’s Chili Cook-Off is to provide a great fall event that benefits a great cause."

The event is limited to the first 1,000 participants. However, additional full servings of Chili and hot dogs will be available for purchase for $2 each.

Tickets for the event will be sold at the door for $10 for ages 13 and older, or $5 for ages 12 and under. Participants are encouraged to pay with cash. The children’s meal includes a hotdog.
