Canton Police Investigating Death, Shut Down Koppernick Road: Cops

CANTON, MI — A Canton Road was closed Monday morning as police investigate a death, according to Canton Police.

Police said officers were called to Koppernick Road near Interstate 275 between Warren and Joy roads shortly before 1 a.m. to investigate a death.

The victim was shot to death, according to a WDIV report.

"Be advised that Koppernick Rd will be closed from Holly Dr east to the Township border for several hours due to an ongoing police investigation," Canton Police said in a Facebook post. "Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes."

No further information was released.
