Canton Teen Badly Injured In Jet Ski Crash On Oakland Co. Lake: Police
Investigators don't believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, MI — A Canton teen was badly injured in a jet ski crash on Cass Lake in Waterford Township on Monday afternoon, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Police said the 18-year-old man was speeding on a jet ski in the lake at 4:52 p.m. when he slammed into a 23-foot ski boat that was pulling someone on an inflatable tube.
Officials found the jet ski destroyed and the teen in the water, according to police.

The teen was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, according to police.
A passenger on the ski boat suffered minor injuries in the crash, but declined treatment, according to police.

The 18-year-old Dearborn Heights man who was driving the ski boat was not injured in the crash, according to police.

The crash was the fifth serious boating incident, which included one fatality, in Oakland County since last Thursday.
