Canton Township Man Charged In Ann Arbor Shooting That Injured 1: Cops

A 23-year-old Canton Township man was charged in connection with an Ann Arbor shooting that injured one man last month, according to police.

ANN ARBOR, MI — A 23-year-old Canton Township man was charged in connection with an Ann Arbor shooting that injured one man last month, according to police.

Police said a 32-year-old man was driving on Washtenaw Avenue near Huron Parkway just before 2 a.m. on May 3 when he was struck by gunfire.

The 32-year-old man then drove himself to the University of Michigan Hospital where he was treated and released for not life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Thelonius Jamal Williams, 23, was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation and discharge from a vehicle causing injury.

He was placed in the Washtenaw County Jail with a $250,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for June 13.
