Celebrate Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year This Week
Other events include a Harry Potter night for teens and community development studies for the Canton Township Board of Trustees.

- Community development block grants and the solid waste master plan are topics to be studied by the Board of Trustees at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the township administration building’s first-floor board room.
- y will host two celebrations this week: From 7-8 p.m. Monday, parents may bring children ages 4 to 9 to the conference room for Valentine’s Day stories, treats and sweets. From 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, celebrate the Chinese New Year (it’s the Year of the Rabbit!) by learning about Chinese traditions and food and enjoying Chinese music and entertainment.
- Canton’s Downtown Development Authority meets at 8 a.m. Wednesday on the third floor of the township administration building, in Supervisor Phil LaJoy’s office.
- Tweens and teens from 11 to 17 can join the crowd for Harry Potter Movie Night at the B.L.O.C.K. Teen Center from 6:30-11 p.m. Friday. Admission costs $5. For details, call 734-398-5570.
- ’ winter break starts Saturday and ends Feb. 27, meaning no classes for all kindergarten through high school students.
