Canton, Mich.-Don’t miss the comedy, music and romance of “My Fair Lady,” the legendary musical loved by audiences, world-wide! Show opens Friday, September 14, 2012 at 7:30pm and runs through Sunday, September 23, 2012. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm; Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00pm.
  
 “My Fair Lady” is the Tony award-winning musical that made Julie Andrews and Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison household names! It is the tale of Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics who makes a wager that he can take a poor, Cockney flower girl and transform her into a glamorous, well-bred lady.  With music and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and Book by Frederick Loewe, familiar songs include, “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” “With a Little Bit o’ Luck,”  “Loverly,” “Get Me to the Church on Time”  and  many more. The romance and comedy of this show has charmed audiences all over and through the ages! 

Eliza Doolittle is played by Canton's Christine Kapusky Moore and Henry Higgins is played by Ypsilanti resident David  Andrews. Eliza Doolittle Understudy Kara Fay Cardella of Ypsilanti; Henry Higgins Understudy Peter Sonnberg of Novi Patrick McKane of  Canton is Alfie P. Doolittle; Kim Roberts of Brooklyn is Colonel Pickering; Ann Roberts of Brooklyn is Mrs. Pierce; Anne Coultier of Canton is Mrs. Eynsford-Hill; Elliot Styles of Dexter is Freddy Eynsford-Hill; and Denise Staffeld of Canton as Mrs. Higgins.

Based on “Pygmalion” written by George Bernard Shaw, “My Fair Lady” was adapted for the stage as a musical, and was performed on Broadway in 1956.  The film version was released in 1964.
