The Great ARTscape

You're invited to experience Canton's new unparalleled art experience for all ages! Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take in a little art…or a lot of it! Canton Leisure Services, The Canton DDA, the Canton Public Library, Midwest Sculpture Initiative, The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, D&M Art Studio and the Detroit Institute of Arts bring you a day that’s simply dripping with art and culture! 

Start the morning off with a refreshing autumn walk along Ford Rd. as artist, Ken Thompson, offers an informational walking tour of Canton’s 2012 Sculpture Installation. Shuttle will leave the Summit on the Park at 9:30am; T-Shirt & Refreshments included; Pre-registration required as space is limited; online registration available at www.cantonfun.org; Search "Public Art Tour of Ford Road" or call 734/394-5460.

Next, take in Amy DiPlacido’s exhibit on display in the gallery of the Village Theater at Cherry Hill for free, & while you’re there let the kids join us for a special art workshop from 1-2pm in the vestibule. No registration required.

Then, meet us in Heritage Park for a very special FREE tour of four of the Canton DIA Inside/Out masterworks which will be led by official museum docents.  These guided riding Golf cART tours will will begin at 1pm, 2pm & 2:45pm and will run 20-30 minutes in length. Finally, the talented artists of D&M Art Studio will host a Fine Art Workshop for Families from 3-4pm at their store on located at 8691 N. Lilley Road. The program is FREE but space is limited, so please call 734/453-3710 to pre-register.
