Grand Opening College Nannies and Tutors Makes Finding Help this Summer a Breeze

College Nannies and Tutors opens new location on Canton's Ford Road

CANTON, MI: College Nannies and Tutors is opening a new location in the Willowcreek Plaza at 42180 Ford Road, Suite 302, Canton. Residents throughout southeast Michigan can take advantage of College Nannies and Tutors’ services. The franchise helps parents of children ages infant through middle school to find the proper care for after school, summer, full-time and specialized tutoring.

What sets Nannies and Tutors apart is the process in which they secure their staff. “Each candidate must have a college degree or have graduated college, and has experience and/or a desire to have a career involving the care of children,” says Owner and Managing Director Sharon Ragland-Keys. These include college students majoring in education, psychology, and social work. A full screening process, formal interview and background check takes place prior to the candidate coming on staff.

The service offers a win/win for the nannies/tutors as well as the clients. The nanny staff or tutor can apply for specific hours or shifts. For example, they may only be interested in summer care, or after school. This can be specified and is then matched with candidates that require this service. Also, tutors are matched up specifically on their areas of expertise, i.e., math, science, reading, or even college preparatory exams.

Each nanny meets with the family prior to being hired. “We want to learn what exactly they need, and what are the interests of the children, and find the right candidate for their care,” says Keys.

Nanny care needs can increase during the summer months for many parents. “Parents are often looking for their kids to be transported to and from camps, so they need a licensed nanny. We have nannies available for driving as well,” says Keys.

Tutors are matched up according to the needs of the student as well. Specific subjects for elementary, middle school and high school students can be provided, as well as academic testing prep for ACT and SAT. Tutoring sessions can be held at the location or remotely, whichever the client prefers.

As part of their grand opening, College Nannies and Tutors Canton location is offering customers a 10% discount on tutoring services and nanny replacement fees.

Additionally, high school students can take a free practice ACT and/or SAT exam this summer on the first Saturday of each month. This service is open to the public, and is strictly a practice test. The first testing Saturday is June 7th, with additional Saturdays in July and August.
