Harbaugh entered his seventh season on a hot seat after going 2-4 in the Big Ten's abbreviated schedule in 2020 and for losing all five games against Michigan's biggest rival the Ohio State Buckeyes.
However, Harbaugh led Michigan to a 42-27 victory over the Buckeyes this season, en route to a Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff berth.
No. 2 Michigan (12-1) faces No. 3 Georgia (12-1) in the College Football Playoff on Dec. 31 at the Orange Bowl.
