Have You Seen This Parrot? $1,000 Reward Offered

Days after a fright-fueled flight on the Fourth of July, Pretty Baby is still missing and couple who love her are anxious about her safety.

Loud fireworks caused so much stress for Pretty Baby that the 25-year-old Senegal parrot flew away in fear from her Plymouth home, leaving her anguished owners worried that she will never find her way back.

Freddie and Valerie Gorlitz have been keeping a vigil for the missing parrot over the past few days. Valerie Gorlitz tearfully told WXYZ-TV that she has even tried sleeping outside in case Pretty Baby returns..

The Gorlitzes are beside themselves. The yellow and green parrot with a grey head is a spoiled, catered to inside bird unfamiliar with the outdoor environment and, they fear, vulnerable to predators.

“I don’t know if she knows how to survive,” Valerie Gorlitz told the television station. “It’s like a strange environment out there. She’s always been in the house and had food and water. We provided for her, you know. I don’t know if she can hunt for it herself. I just worry about her.”

The Goritzes are offering a $1,000 to anyone who finds Pretty Baby. If you’ve seen her, leave a message on the For the Love of Louie | Michigan Lost Pet Lookers Facebook page or call the Gorlitzes at (734) 455-0391.
