Police responded to the 380000 block of Summers in Livonia on Sept.21 after receiving a call about an infant who fell down the stairs. The baby died of his injuries the next day, and the death was ruled a homicide.
According to online records, Hontz was released from prison in March 2014 after serving two years on a felony firearm charge. He is being held without bond in the Wayne County Jail, and could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted of the current charges.
