Man Arrested After Barricading Himself Inside Livonia Home: Police

A man wanted on a warrant eventually surrendered Tuesday after a standoff with officers in Livonia, according to police.

LIVONIA, MI — A man wanted on a warrant eventually surrendered Tuesday after a standoff with officers in Livonia, according to police.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 35000 block of Pickford Court near Seven Mile and Wayne roads in Livonia, according to police.

When officers arrived at the home, the man refused to cooperate and locked himself inside the home, according to a WXYZ report.

The man suffers from mental issues and made threats against the University of Michigan, according to the report.

"Great work by members of the Emergency Support Team to take the suspect into custody," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said Tuesday on X. "There were no injuries to the public, police, or the suspect. We want to thank the residents of Livonia for their patience as we worked to resolve this incident peacefully."
