Man Facing 14 Charges In Canton Shooting: Police

A man is facing 14 charges in connection to a Canton shooting that left one person injured in April, police said.

CANTON, MI — A man is facing 14 charges in connection to a Canton shooting that left one person injured in April, police said.

The injured 38-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was not known, police said.

Tywone Sweden, 31, was charged with 14 felonies, including assault with intendent to murder, felonious possession of a weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was given a $750,000 bond. His next court appearance was scheduled for May 5.

Police said Sweden shot the 38-year-old man in the leg and abdomen at the Sherwood Mobile Home Park, located on the 41200 block of Old Michigan Avenue, on April 16.

Officers arrested Sweden in connection to the shooting on April 19 after four searches in Canton Township, Taylor, Dearborn Heights and Detroit, police said.
