Man Found Shot Inside Vehicle On Plymouth Freeway: Police

A man is recovering Wednesday after he was shot inside a car on a Plymouth freeway, Michigan State Police said.​

PLYMOUTH, MI — A man is recovering Wednesday after he was shot inside a vehicle on a Plymouth freeway, Michigan State Police said.

Troopers found the 46-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound and slouched over the wheel of a vehicle on the westbound lanes of Michigan 14 near Interstate 275 at 3 a.m., police said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

Troopers said the vehicle struck the Interstate 275 bridge and stopped on the north shoulder of Michigan 14. Troopers found a gun and a single shell casting inside the car, police said.

There were no bullet holes anywhere in the vehicle and there were no obvious signs that a suspect was involved in the shooting, police said.

Although troopers did not confirm if the man intentionally shot himself, officials urged residents to seek help if they feel the need to talk.
