Man Shot Dead During Confrontation With Neighbor In Canton Twp.: Cops
The suspected shooter was arrested after he barricaded himself inside his home, according to police.
CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man was shot and killed Saturday morning during a confrontation with a neighbor in a Canton Township neighborhood, according to police.
Officers found the 35-year-old Canton Township man suffering from a gunshot wound at a home on the 200 block of Cornell Street, near Sheldon and Cherry Hill roads, according to police.
Officials took the man to a nearby hospital where he died, according to police.

After shooting the victim, the suspected shooter barricaded himself inside his home, according to police.
The suspected shooter eventually surrendered and was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting, according to police.

Police did not identify the victim.
The case will be turned over to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office to determine charges.
No additional details were immediately released.
"This was a senseless act of violence toward the victim," Canton police chief Chad Baugh said. "The Canton Police Department sends our deepest condolences to the victim’s family, and to the neighbors who may have witnessed this tragic event."
