Man, Woman Flee Walmart Over Pill Theft: Cops

A man and woman escaped from Walmart workers after being accused of trying to steal over-the-counter pain pills last week, according to a HometownLife report.

Employees at the Michigan Avenue Walmart told police a woman was spotted on store cameras emptying a bottle of $2.98 pain-relief pills into her purse the night of Friday, March 6. A man joined the woman before the store’s loss prevention agent stopped the duo from leaving without paying for the pills, the report stated.

Eventually, the duo fled the store before police could arrive, the report added.
