Steven D. Mann, appointed last week to fill a vacancy on the Plymouth Township Board of Trustees after the death of Kay Arnold, hopes to raise the level of cooperation and eliminate some of the political donnybrooks of the past.
“My goal here is to help out the township and try to help bring the board back together and be more functional and serve the community,” Mann told the Plymouth Observer/Hometownlife.com.
In addition to working with other trustees as part of a cohesive board and maintaining good working relationships with neighboring communities, Mann said he wants to provide township residents with high-quality services and keep their taxes low.

Mann — an attorney, former township police officer for 11 years and former township supervisor and trustee for 12 years until his retirement from politics in 2012 — will serve until the term expires next November.
He said he won’t run for a full term in 2016.
