Michigan Belgian Beer Event In Running For Top 10 Beer Festivals

The North American Belgian Beer Festival in Westland is one of 20 such events in the running for a USA Today Readers’ Choice contest to identify the 10 best beer festivals in the country. The Westland festival is the largest exclusively Belgian beer festival in the United States, will be held July 14-15, 2017.

Votes are allowed once a day, and the 10 winning beer festivals will be announced on one of the biggest beer days of the year, on Friday, March 17.

The finalists were nominated by a panel of beer experts.

In naming the North American Belgian Beer Festival one of the finalists, the panel noted that the event is “so thoroughly Belgian, it’s co-sponsored by the Trade Consulate General of Belgium/Flanders Investment and Trade.”

More than 80 brewers will offer samples of 200-plus beers, all of which are brewed exclusively in Belgium.
